What you are consenting to

If you opt in, we may send you occasional e-mails about Splitgeld itself: new features, meaningful changes to how the app works, and offers on Splitgeld Premium.

This is a separate choice from the e-mails the app sends as part of the service — a new expense in your group, a settlement, a friend request, a password reset, or a verification link. Those are part of using Splitgeld and are not covered by this consent. You can control them individually under Notification settings in the app.

What we do not do

We do not sell, rent, or share your e-mail address with advertisers, data brokers, or any third party for their own marketing.

We do not use the contents of your groups, expenses, receipts or comments to target marketing at you. Marketing e-mails are addressed to Splitgeld users generally, not built from what you spend money on.

We do not build advertising profiles, and Splitgeld carries no advertising identifiers.

The legal basis

Your consent, under Article 6(1)(a) of the UK and EU General Data Protection Regulation, and where applicable the ePrivacy rules on electronic marketing.

Consent must be freely given, specific, informed and unambiguous. That is why the box is not ticked for you, why refusing it does not restrict any part of the app, and why this page exists separately from the Privacy Policy: so that what you are agreeing to is stated in one place, in plain terms, before you agree to it.

Withdrawing consent

You can withdraw at any time, and doing so must be as easy as giving it was (Article 7(3)). Use the unsubscribe link at the foot of any marketing e-mail, or write to info@splitgeld.com and ask us to stop.

Withdrawing takes effect promptly and costs you nothing: your account, your groups, your data and your subscription are untouched, and you will still receive the service e-mails described above.

Withdrawal is not retroactive — it does not make the e-mails we already sent unlawful — but we stop sending further ones.

What we keep as a record

We store the date and time you gave consent, the date and time you withdrew it if you did, and the version of this notice that was in force at the time. We are required to be able to demonstrate that consent was given (Article 7(1)), and holding the version means a later revision of this page cannot be read as something you agreed to.

We do not keep any other record tied to this choice.

Your rights

You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to processing, and to receive it in a portable form. You also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.
