The service

Splitgeld is an app for recording shared expenses, splitting them between people, and keeping track of who owes what to whom. Splitgeld is not a payment institution: it does not transfer, hold, or intermediate money. The balances shown in the app are a record based solely on the data you enter.

Your account

You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep your password confidential. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account. You may delete your account at any time from within the app.

We may suspend or close your account if you harass others, enter misleading records, or otherwise misuse the service.

Content you enter

The expenses, amounts, descriptions, and images you enter belong to you. We use that content only to provide the service to you and to the other members of your groups. You accept that content you add to a group is visible to every member of that group.

Free use and Premium subscription

Splitgeld's core features are free. On the free plan you can be in up to 3 groups at a time, have up to 15 members per group, and record up to 5 expenses per day; uploading receipt photos is a premium feature.

Splitgeld Premium is offered as a monthly subscription and its current price is shown on the purchase screen. Payment is charged to your App Store account when the purchase is confirmed.

The subscription renews automatically and is charged at the same rate unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings on your device; cancelling does not provide a refund for a period that has already elapsed.

Limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is". The balances and debts shown in the app are based on the data you enter; Splitgeld is not responsible for the accuracy of that data or for the actual payments made between people.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect damages or loss of profit. In no case will our total liability exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

Changes and termination

We may update these terms; for significant changes we will notify you inside the app. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the new terms.

You may end this agreement at any time by deleting your account.
